MEET MICA

Hello! I'm Mica L. Anders, a professional genealogist focused on African American family history and anti-racist genealogy. My work combines artistic creativity, thanks to my MFA in visual arts, with in-depth historical research. I'm passionate about bringing family stories to life through compelling narratives and visually engaging exhibits.

My collaborations with museums and cultural organizations have led to diverse community history projects, emphasizing inclusive and underrepresented narratives in Midwestern family histories. These projects not only fulfill my professional goals but also fuel my passion for uncovering and sharing multifaceted historical stories.

Outside of work, I love to travel, create art, dance, and enjoy game nights with friends.
